Policy Overview

This policy provides financial protection against accidental bodily injury resulting in death, permanent total disablement, permanent partial disablement, temporary total disablement, or medical expenses arising solely and directly from an accident.

The policy is designed to provide financial support to the insured person and/or their family in the event of unforeseen accidental injuries.

Policy Description

The policy provides for the payment of benefits in case of bodily injury arising out of an accident caused by violent, accidental, external and visible means and resulting in any of the following:

  • Accidental Death-100% of the Sum Insured or 6 times Annual Earnings
  • Permanent Total Disablement-100% of the Sum Insured or 8 times Annual Earnings
  • Permanent Partial Disablement-A percentage of the Sum Insured according to the degree of permanent disablement or 8 times Annual Earnings x % as per degree of permanent disablement
  • Temporary Total Disablement (weekly compensation, if opted for)- 100% of Earnings up to 104 weeks
  • Accidental Medical expenses- Medical expenses incurred are reimbursed up to the limit insured

Benefits Sum Insured can be either a fixed amount or linked with salaries.

  • Accidental Medical expenses cover
  • Repatriation cover for foreign employees

Limit of Indemnity is either a fixed amount or linked to salaries

This policy does not cover:

  • Self-inflicted injury or suicide
  • Intoxication or influence of drugs/alcohol
  • Participation in hazardous sports or activities unless specifically covered
  • War, civil war, nuclear risks, and radioactive contamination
  • Pregnancy or childbirth-related conditions
  • Pre-existing disabilities or injuries

Insured's Duties

The Insured must:

  • Take reasonable precautions to prevent accidents
  • Notify insurer immediately of any accident likely to give rise to a claim
  • Seek immediate medical treatment where necessary
  • Provide all required medical reports and supporting documents
  • Undergo medical examination if requested by insurer
  • Inform Police wherever applicable

Claims Procedure

  • Notify insurer immediately upon occurrence of incident
  • Submit completed claim form and supporting documents
  • Provide medical certificates, hospital records, bills, and other relevant documents
  • Submit Police report where applicable
  • Claim assessment and settlement as per policy terms

Policy Period

  • Typically, 12 months
  • Renewable annually

Premium is based on:

  • Age of insured person
  • Occupation and risk classification
  • Participation in hazardous activities or travel exposure
  • Claims history
