PERSONAL ACCIDENT COVER (IF SELECTED)

Default Personal Accident Sum Insured: MUR 100,000 (unless specified otherwise)

• Compulsory Excess applies to all claims
• Total loss excess and dealership excess may apply to specific vehicles, depending on the Sum Insured and type of garage selected for repairs.
• Young Driver Excess applies if driver is:
  • Under 25 years, OR
  • Holds provisional licence, OR
  • Licensed for less than 2 years
• Additional excess may apply depending on driver age, driving experience, or claim circumstances.

Excess may be waived if you are not at fault, subject to written confirmation of liability from the third-party insurer

• In case of Repair Loss, Settlement may be made by repairing/replacing the parts at a chosen garage. Liability is limited to reasonable repair costs, subject to policy terms, excess, and availability of parts. Where parts are unavailable locally, liability is limited to the value of the part, not exceeding the manufacturer’s latest listed price.
• In case of total loss, the amount payable shall not exceed the Sum Insured stated in the policy schedule and shall be limited to the reasonable market value of the vehicle prior to the loss, as assessed by a registered Motor Surveyor.

This policy does not cover:

• Loss due to natural Calamities such as Cyclone, Tempest, Flood, Typhoon, Hurricane, Tidal Wave unless the specific extension is opted for
• Wear and tear or mechanical breakdown
• Driving under alcohol or drugs
• Driving without a valid licence
• Driving without applicable licensing regulations
• Use outside permitted purposes
• Racing, speed testing, or pace-making
• Consequential losses (e.g. depreciation)
• Injury to driver (under Third-Party section)
• Injury to family members/employees (under Third-Party section)
• Suicide or intentional self-injury (Personal Accident)
